Heaven

Dean’s POV

Its   late,  and   the rain   came   pouring down  hard  and the  wind  wiped  around  and  thunder  cracked.  Sure  wasn’t  much  like  Heaven.  Then   again  what is  Heaven.  I was    taught that   there  was  no  such  thing.  Sam  however   is   still  young    only  4, he  still had that   child  like  wonder  in him.   He  would    ask  me  about  Heaven  too.  He sure  ask  a  lot of   questions.  Damn  him  ,  I  do   love him  but  his questions  are  hard to  answer   sometimes.    

I  shift a  little  in  my  motel  room bed  and   glance   up at the  ceiling,  I  couldn’t   sleep  why  maybe   because  of the  storm  or the  fact  I had  a  gut feeling Sammy  would  be  waking   up  crying  because  of  the storm  or  a  nightmare.  Just then  I heard  Sam  start  to crying   for  me.  I sighed  and  pulled  myself  out  of bed.   I made  my  way   into his  bedroom.

“Dean…”  Sam whimpers    as  he  see  me   walk  in. I  sat   down and  pulled  Sam  on  my  lap.  Sam  clings to my  arm crying  still  as  I  held  my  baby  brother.

“Its  okay Sammy the  storm  will  pass  soon”  I  told  him softly and rock  him gently  in  my arms.  Sam  whimpers  and  clings to me  and I sigh.  I  am  8  and  I am  acting older  then I should  be acting. Sammy needs  me  and I  have  to  take  care of  him.

“Dean..?”  I  hear  him  ask  me.  I  look down  at  him.

“Yea Sammy? What  is  it?” I  asked  him  waiting for  him to ask  whatever  it is  he have  to   ask.

“Where  is Mommy?” he  asked  me, so  innocently  too.  I blinked  and    I  was   quite.  I    didn’t  want  to  answer  him  at  first. This was  hard   question for  me   answer.  What do you tell   your    4  year  old  brother,    that  your  mom  is  dead.  Murdered  by a   monster.  I  couldn’t   tell   him that  he  too young and  would  really  upset  him.  I hate  the   fact  that   I  knew  it.  “ Deann”  he  whines.


“Sammy….She  no  longer  here”  I  stated  and   just hope  that  would   be  good  enough answer  for  Sam.

However  for  me   that wasn’t  good  enough. “  Then    where  did  Momma  go?”  Sam  asked  and  gave  me  his  puppy  dog  face.

“  She   sleeping  with the fishes  Sammy” I  told  him and  rubbed  back of  my  neck.  Sam   cock  a  eye  brow  at  me.
“Why?”  he  asked  me.  The dreadful  “WHY”   question  that all  kids   his age  love  to  ask.

“  Uh Sammy”  I said  and  sighed looking  down  myself.  I  hugged  him.  I wasn’t  sure  what  I  was  going  tell  Sam. He  was  so  young.  He  would   ask  why  again  if I told him  Mom was  dead.  I  had  come   up  with something would  be   good  enough   answer.  Then  came  to me. “  Sammy, Mom  is  in   heaven”  I  told  him  nodding  my head.

“ She   with angels    huh Dean?”  Sam   said  and  yawns  laying  his head  on  my   shoulder  sucking  his   thumb.  I smiled  and  hugged  my  little  brother.  

Even  if    I wasn’t sure  about Angels  and  Heaven,   its  nice    thinking  that  were  Mom  is. “ Yea  Sammy  She   with the  Angels  in Heaven” I said   to him and  see  him  falling   back  to  sleep.  I  laid  him down  in his bed  and  tucked  him  in.   Heaven  sound   just  like    a  good place  for   Mom to  be  at.
